As a UX designer with 7+ years of experience in user research/testing, design strategy, and designing user-centered solutions, my journey started with a BA in Industrial Design from Zhejiang University and an MSc in HCI from Uppsala University. Along the way, I completed an Exchange Program in Product Design at Queensland University of Technology. Most recently, I was a UX designer at Fortum. Currently, I’m looking for new opportunities!

Intersection of Design, Technology, People and Business

Summary

With a background in industrial design and human-computer interaction and 9 years of experience as a UX/UI designer across various industries, I have developed a strong desire to become a more holistic designer with a deeper understanding of technology, people, and business. I aim to specialize in the usability of IT systems in today's global marketplace.

After working as the sole designer at CCMATH, I recently graduated from the Master's Program in Human-Computer Interaction.

Behind the design, my background story

Inspirations and Passion

I have been painting since I was five years old, drawing inspiration from my uncle, who is an artist. I received professional training in art at a high school where I learned how to bridge art and design. My passion for design grew during my schooling years, and I have always been inspired by how good design can connect people and solve real-world problems.

Upon entering university, I enrolled in various design and computer science-related courses to explore my interests. My hard work in academics paid off when I participated in design and technology workshops, particularly the Design and Innovation Double Degree Program. During this program, I collaborated with members of the Eindhoven University of Technology to create a product called Miss Ball, which was aimed at helping elderly people connect with their family members, especially those overseas. The idea for this project came to me during my exchange experience in Australia, where I found it difficult to communicate with my grandmother because she had trouble using video calls. Our product utilized Processing and Arduino to create an interaction product that allowed elderly people to touch the ball, which would then light up on the younger person's side, conveying a message of "missing you." This experience solidified my understanding of how design can work together with innovation and technology to solve real-world problems.

Me and design

Design Philosophy

  • I pay more attention to what users do than what they say.

  • I value critical thinking and aim to create practical and efficient features.

  • I am committed to delivering high-quality work and positively impacting the projects I work on.

  • I focus on both the design results and process, as well as storytelling.

  • I believe that UX design strives to achieve both consistency and coherence.
