Overview

BX11 is a Human Machine Interface UX design project for Lynk&Co and is part of the Lynk&Co brand's second generation. As a member of the User Experience Department in ECARX (GEELY CHINA), I was responsible for conducting user and marketing research and UX and UI design. During this period, I led a team of designers in China and collaborated with our colleagues from China Euro Vehicle Technology AB for the BX11 project. I gathered customer feedback based on our high-fidelity prototypes and demos and worked with other designers to establish the design system.

Flat graphics float in a three dimensional space; modern, crisp and clear, with the backdrop creating depth, perspective and dynamics.

Subtile, unexpected motion also forms a part of Lynk & Co house style, which is not connected to functionality but enhances the user experience.

Graphics should strengthen trim levels with matching themes, and space is provided for users to download alternative visual skins.

Takeaways

  • Alignment and Communication

As the team leader of the BX 11 project, I needed to align all the relevant designs with our UX team members, which were developed in collaboration with Shanghai GEELY DESIGN and CEVT. Throughout the project development, we utilized the agile methodology to manage and track progress efficiently.

  • Design Consistency

The enablers for Lynk & Co UX needed to be fulfilled consistently in BX11.

During the project, BX11 followed UX guidelines developed for DCY 11, but there was still ample opportunity to improve BX11's UX features.

  • UX Innovations

BX 11 had its own graphic themes based on the trim levels and Lynk & Co graphics strategy.
